The Ashkenaz Foundation is thrilled to announce our 14th biennial festival of global Jewish music, arts, and culture. This year’s festival will feature over 50 acts and 250+ individual artists from across Canada and around the world, representing at least a dozen countries. The Ashkenaz Festival is 90% free to the public and attracts a diverse audience of over 50,000 people at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre. This unique event brings together one of the largest and most diverse audiences in the world to experience Jewish music and cultural arts. The festival is multidisciplinary, including music, dance, theatre, film, literature, visual arts, kids/family programs, and more.
Role: Exclusive Merchandiser
We are seeking an individual as an exclusive merchandiser for this year’s festival. Based on our 2022 festival, the merchandiser is expected to conduct $5k-7k of business over the weekend, generating $700-$800 in net income (minus expenses for staffing, table décor, etc.).
Responsibilities:
  • Manage all merchandise sales for the duration of the festival
  • Set up and maintain an attractive and functional merchandise booth
  • Handle cash and credit transactions accurately
  • Maintain inventory and restock as needed
  • Coordinate with festival staff and volunteers
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in merchandise sales, preferably at large events or festivals
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable and punctual with a professional demeanor
Compensation:
  • 10% commission on total sales
