Ashkenaz @ Pedestrian Sunday in Kensington Market

The 2026 Ashkenaz Festival opens for the first time as part of Pedestrian Sunday in Kensington Market (12-10PM), one of the city’s most vibrant street festivals. As the historic home of Toronto’s Jewish community and a crossroads of cultures and the arts, Kensington is the perfect locale to showcase the best of Canada’s Jewish music scene. Plan for a jam-packed day of programming on multiple stages from noon through the evening, including the Ashkenaz Parade, an activation from Ontario Jewish Archives, and a walking tour with the Kensington Market Historical Society. A grid-style schedule is available below for viewing and/or download, and you can browse specific event listings in the tiles below the grid.

Note that the first two performances of the day at Free Times Cafe are presented as part of its famous “Bella, Did You Eat?” Brunch – reservations are required (416-967-1078) and seatings are 30-60 minutes in advance of performance times. Later afternoon events at Free Times Cafe are first-come for seating and a minimum order of one drink or food item is required.
