A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Eyal El Wahab performs on one-of-a-kind DIY custom instruments that he has built himself out of, essentially, garbage. As a child of the Yemeni diaspora who grew up in Jaffa, Israel, it’s a practice that harkens back to his family’s homeland, where even rubbish can be put to use. Learn about the inspiring philosophy and inventive methodologies behind El Wahab’s craft in creating instruments from discarded items. Following this lecture, join him in an instrument-building workshop.
