We are proud to support Harold Green Jewish Theatre’s presentation of the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene’s monumental production of Fiddler on the Roof, in Yiddish (with English subtitles). In 2018, New York audiences fell in love with this truly authentic version of Fiddler for the very first time and Toronto audiences will now have the opportunity to experience this unique version of one of the most iconic musicals of all time. Don’t miss this Drama Desk Award-winning production, directed by the legendary Joel Grey (Cabaret) and featuring Steven Skybell as Tevye, along with an all-new Canadian support cast. Laugh, cry, and feel the love at this powerful and universal testament to the strength and resilience of Jewish community.
Josh “Socalled” Dolgin is a Yiddish rapping, accordion wielding, piano playing, Klezmer hip hop maestro. Heralded by Jewish, Klezmer, and hip hop musicians alike, Josh is known for his love of genre-bending Yiddish music, and explores the shtetls of Eastern Europe and the Yiddish vaudeville stages of 2nd Avenue for inspiration. In this intimate solo performance, Josh will accompany himself on piano and accordion, presenting songs from the Yiddish Theatre tradition, Hasidic melodies, Klezmer, folksong, and some of his own originals. Join us after the concert for a dessert reception.
