Ethel Raim is the legendary founder of The Pennywhistlers, an American singing group popular during the 1960s folk music revival. She founded the “Center for Traditional Music and Dance” and was a driving force in creating the Folk Arts Program of the New York State Council on the Arts. She has spent the last 7 decades performing and giving workshops about unaccompanied Yiddish folk song. This concert sees her accompanied, at last, by musicians, in this case led by Juno-nominated Josh “Socalled” Dolgin and his band.
